The University of Mississippi is committed to leveraging reference checks to predict a candidate's future performance and suitability for a role. Reference checks are a vital part of the hiring process that help verify candidate information, assess job performance, and improve hiring decisions. UM is seeking a cloud-based vendor to collect online digital references, utilize assessment tools, and provide predictions on candidates’ suitability for roles. Specific service items include: • Confirm the accuracy of the candidate's resume and interview responses. • Ensure the candidate has the claimed skills and experiences. • Gather information on the candidate's past job performance, behavior, and reliability. • Obtain feedback on specific skills, strengths, and areas for improvement. • Collect valuable insights from past supervisors, work-related peers, and subordinates. • Identify any potential red flags or concerns that might not have surfaced during the interview. • Predict how the candidate will perform in the new role based on their past performance. • Enhance the overall quality of the hiring process by ensuring candidates are who they say they are and have the skills required for the job. UM is implementing Workday for HCM (to include Core HR, Recruiting, Onboarding, Benefits, Leave Programs, Compensation, Time Tracking, and Payroll). Currently the reference check process is integrated into the SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting process. Additional reference checks may be managed directly through the vendor’s site. The selected vendor must be a preferred or selected partner of Workday and have the ability to integrate with the platform.
