Northside Boulevard is a critical freight corridor in Nampa. It is the primary local street traversed by trucks to and from The Amalgamated Sugar Company (TASCO) and new industrial users to the north. For example, during TASCO’s primary sugar beet processing months, as many as 500 trucks, including 129,000-pound tandem rigs, pass through the intersection of Northside Boulevard and Karcher Road. Nampa has already contracted with a firm to complete design through PS&E for a roundabout at this intersection. This RFQ seeks to extend improvements north of this roundabout to and including Northside Boulevard’s intersection with Birch Lane. In addition to roadway improvements, this project will also improve much-needed vehicle and pedestrian safety
