Pickleball Court Construction: • Concrete Pickleball Courts. Exhibit A • Construction of four (4) regulation-sized pickleball courts. • Each court shall be a rectangle twenty feet (20’) wide and forty-four (44’) long for both singles and doubles play. • The total court size shall be thirty (30’) by sixty (60’). • Court measurements shall be made to the outside of the lines. The lines shall be two inches (2”) in width and the same color, clearly contrasting with the color of the court surface. Court colors shall be determined by the City. • Installation of pickleball nets, posts, and other necessary equipment. • Court surface to be of non-slip paint. • The baselines are the lines parallel to the net at each end of the court. • The sidelines are the lines perpendicular to the net on each side of the court. • The non-valley line is the line on each side of the net between the sidelines and parallel, seven feet (7’) from the net. • The non-volley zone is the area of the court bounded by the two (2) sidelines, the non-volley line and the net. The non-volley-line and the sidelines are included in the non-volley zone. • The centerline is the line on each side of the net, bisecting the area between the non-volley line and the baseline. • The service courts are the areas on either side of the centerline, bounded by the non-volley line, the baseline, and the sideline. • Lay out line on courts with two (2”) wide white lines. • The net shall be weather resistant and made of synthetic material. • The net length shall be at least twenty feet (20’), extending from one sideline to the other. The net width shall be at least two feet (2’). • The net’s mesh size must be sufficiently small to prevent a ball from passing through it. • The net shall be suspended over the center of the court and shall be thirty-six inches (36”) high at the sidelines and thirty-four inches (34”) at center of court. • The center strap shall be placed at the center of the net to enable easy adjustment to the thirty-four-inch (34”) center requirement. • The top of the net should be edged with a two inch (2”) white banding over a cord or cable running through the binding. The binding shall rest upon the cord or cable. • Net posts should be placed twelve inches (12”) outside the sidelines. • Eight (8) foot chain link fence surrounding all four (4) courts. • Entire site clean-up and removal of all debris when necessary and at completion of project.
