Quality workmanship is of primary importance on this project. The Contractor shall furnish and install anything necessary to protect the existing improvements adjacent to the work. Contractor shall be responsible for field-checking dimensions. Contractor shall be responsible for all measurements and quantities necessary to satisfactorily complete the work. Inspect the entire roof area for damage that may have resulted from foreign objects, extreme weather or from human activity i.e.: HVAC unit maintenance. Repair miscellaneous parapet wall joint and cap flashing caulking. Remove all debris that may have accumulated on the roof surface to ensure it does not restrict drainage or cause roof membrane damage. Inspect and clean all roof drains, overflow drains, grates, and scupper drains to ensure a free flow of rain water. Inspect/repair all welds at membrane field seams, pitch pockets, walk pads, roof curbs, roof penetrations, and any roof top accessories functioning in conjunction with the membrane roofing system must be kept properly maintained at all times. Verify no voids have developed at weld points. Inspect/repair all sheet metal flashings and counter flashings at copings, gutters, collector boxes, and downspouts to verify they are firmly attached and sealed. Inspect/repair and verify roof access scuttle, ladder, and locking mechanism are operational and all flashings are in place and secure. Verify all HVAC unit access doors and covers are installed and secure. Submit a written report to City of Redding's Facility Supervisor detailing the current roof condition, evidence of any roof abuse, and any problems that could potentially lead to future roof problems. Materials should NOT be stored on the roof, and vandalism shall be reported when observed by the inspector. Prior to installation of the reroofing materials, the Contractor shall provide SDS (safety data sheets) for any hazardous materials; i.e., glue, fumes, etc. resulting from the installation process Work shall be performed only when directed by the Building Maintenance Division. Service work may need to be performed after hours and/or on weekends.
