The Project is a two-story classroom addition with approximately 18,700 new square feet. There will be a total of 13 new classrooms including 10 typical classrooms, 1 ceramics lab, and 2 science classrooms. The exterior design will include split face and smooth face CMU as well as storefront systems and metal panel wall systems. The addition was planned for in the original design and will be an extension to an existing classroom wing. Site work will include adjustments to an existing parking lot and tying into existing underground utilities to accommodate the requirements of the new addition. A new sewer connection from the addition to the street will also be required. Landscape around the addition will be planted in sod with remodel to existing irrigation systems as needed to accommodate the new addition’s footprint. New sidewalks will be included that tie the new addition into the existing site circulation. The structural system for the addition will include load bearing CMU, steel framing, concrete footings, and a suspended concrete floor over composite deck and steel framing. The HVAC heating and cooling system will tie into the existing hot water and chilled water system.
