Ft. • 6” x 8” – minimum length 8’8” untreated railroad ties o Average annual volume produced: 375 ties or 12,000 Bd. Ft. • Bark – Debarker generated and includes woody debris from firewood processor o Estimated annual volume: 900 Cubic Yards • Chips – Approximately 1” x 1” in size. Chips will be available primarily from oak species. White pine chips will also be available. o Estimated annual volume: 250 Tons or approximately 1,000 Cubic Yards; DEEP is seeking proposals for the sale of these residual sawmill by-products. These products are produced at the DEEP Sawmill. The mission of the DEEP Sawmill is to produce quality forest products to serve the agency needs while managing the source of the mill’s raw materials, state forests and parks, in an environmentally sound and sustainable manner. These products are a residual by-product of the milling process and are not in demand by the agency or other state agencies. Average annual volumes were determined from annual sawmill output data collected since 2019. The production of bark and chips represent new operations. As a result, annual volumes for bark and chips are estimated volumes. Actual volumes for all listed products may vary. Product availability may vary.
