hand planting-Perry Co.-please see attached docuemnts The Alabama Forestry Commission would like to solicit for lump-sum bids for hand-planting two small cutover tracts (total of 9.7 acres) owned by the USFS. I am requesting one lump-sum price for this planting. These tracts were clearcut and have not been site prepped. Location: Talladega National Forest, Oakmulgee District: 9.7+/- acres in portions of Section 34, T21N, R9E, Perry County, AL, as shown on the attached map. Interested bidders may examine the tracts at any time. Specifications for 9.7 acres to be hand-planted with longleaf: o Must use containerized Montane longleaf pine seedlings o Plant on an 8’ x 8’ spacing; 680 trees per acreo At least 90% of the seedlings must be correctly planted according to AFC’s resource sheet “Planting Pine Seedlings”, which is available on the AFC website o Seedlings are to be planted between December 1, 2024, and March 1, 2025o Vendor to provide seedlings and planting labor o Vendor to provide proper care and handling of the seedlings while they are in the vendor’s custody o Plugs should stay intact when extracted and during handling, with no loss of potting medium, and should never be allowed to dry out o Plugs should be no less than 1.3 inches diameter, 4.5 inches long, and 6 cubic inches in volume o Seedlings should have a root collar diameter no less than 0.25” o Top of plug to be slightly exposed above the soil surface Please see attached docs.
