The Project will consist of the design and construction of full-depth reconstruction of certain rail transit infrastructure within the RTD Central Corridor along with ancillary rail systems work, station accessibility improvements, signage and striping, perimeter drainage, and electrical and lighting systems upgrades. The scope of work set forth in Attachment B (the “Scope of Work”) includes work in downtown Denver from 7th Street and West Colfax Avenue to 30th Avenue and N. Downing Street. The Project will replace approximately 13,000 linear feet of track and will include work on eight rail stations. In addition, the Scope of Work includes certain ancillary tasks related to rebuilding high block platforms, complying with Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) and the most recent ADA Public Right-of-Way accessibility guidelines, and upgrading tactile warning strips, electric and lighting systems, and signage and striping. RTD anticipates completing the Project through a progressive design-build contract with the goal of accelerating the project schedule and minimizing impacts on transit operations. Refer to the Scope of Work for additional details regarding the scope of design and construction services being contemplated for the Project.
