The primary objectives of the mental health services provided under the EAPS program are: To offer trauma-informed counseling and support to community members who have experienced public safety-related trauma, including police encounters, systemic injustice, or exposure to violence. To provide mental health support for law enforcement officers and public safety personnel, addressing stress, trauma, and burnout to improve their well-being and resilience. To reduce mental health disparities by ensuring that marginalized communities have access to culturally competent, equitable, and accessible mental health services. To promote collaboration between law enforcement and community members, improving community trust and mental health outcomes.
