A. SCOPE OF WORK The City of Fort Smith is seeking bids from qualified and licensed firms, hereinafter referred to as “Contractor,” to provide services for an exterior historical restoration at Miss Laura’s Brothel Museum to be completed within twelve (12) months, located at 2 North B Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas (the “project”). All repairs shall follow the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Such repairs shall consist of and not limited to the following: EXTERIOR • Installation of a water/weather barrier wrap. Barrier must be between 5-15 mil. • Repair necessary joints and nail holes. • Prime all new raw wood. • Paint the exterior building to match existing paint. Paint used on the exterior from 2001 was mixed by the gallon: 10 drops white, 1 p 54 Black, YOX2 P 32 and TBL 1P20. 4308-400 Base. If evidence is found that points to the original color being something different, this may need to be reconsidered. • Hand paint wood signs at both entrances, paint metal frames to match with new decals to say Miss Laura’s Brothel Museum (instead of Visitor Center). • Remove and replace fabric awning at employee entrance. All others need to be cleaned and mended as needed. • Repairs to exterior electrical as needed. • Clean and install red light bulbs to exterior porch lights. • Remove all wasp nests. • Repair the gate at the back of the house so that it will open freely. • Seal and stain the fence to prevent further damage. • Affix the exterior windows to the building. At this time nothing needs to be replaced, they just need to be fastened to the building. This includes any stained glass. • Remove buzzer system and replace with classic doorbell that only rings downstairs. • Replace the hand railings at the main entrance. • Provide all equipment to perform the necessary work. • Take all measures to prevent any damage to the yard from equipment. • Repair any damaged sod and landscaping. • Clean up and haul off all refuse. • All damaged siding shall be saved and left with the building. If anything is found on the building between the siding and the wood that could be considered an artifact, it must be reported to Angel Tracy immediately
