Specifications include, but are not limited to: Interior Asbestos Containing Floor Tile and Associated Mastic Removal and proper disposal of approximately 4,500 square feet of non-friable tan colored asbestos containing 9”x9” floor tile and associated mastic located under carpet in East/West Hallway, North/South Hallway, Northeast Entry, Southeast Entry, and Rooms 115, 116 and 123. The solvent method shall be used to remove the asbestos mastic. The contractor shall provide adequate ventilation methods for any fumes generated by the solvent. The Contractor and any subcontractors doing work for the Contractor must be licensed as Asbestos Abatement Contractors through the NDDEQ’s Asbestos Control Program. Contractor and any subcontractors are responsible for ensuring that any individuals performing asbestos activities are certified by the NDDEQ’s Asbestos Control Program. Bid responses must include proof of licenses for Contractor and subcontractors and certifications for all individuals who will be working on the project. Bid responses that do not follow these instructions may be deemed non-responsive. Bidders must be registered through the federal system for awards management (www.sam.gov) prior to contract execution. Continuous air-monitoring and final air clearance is required for all asbestos abatement work on this project. Continuous air-monitoring and final air clearance will be provided by a third-party Contractor. The third-party air monitoring Contractor will be either be provided by the NDDEQ or the school. The awarded Bidder must abide by any requirements provided by the third-party air monitoring Contractor to remediate elevated asbestos readings outside the enclosure (containment area) and re-clean any areas that fail final air clearance.
