Service 1: Orientation and Mobility and Vision Rehabilitation: • The Contractor will provide training techniques in the areas of Orientation and Mobility. The Orientation and Mobility training techniques will be provided in the areas of human guide techniques; adaptive travel skills without a cane; long cane and support cane travel; indoor and outdoor orientation and mobility techniques; distribution and training in the use of adaptive aids; and other techniques to improve safe travel and orientation in the community. • The Contractor will provide Vision Rehabilitation Teaching and training techniques in activities of daily living and communication skills to improve independence and self-sufficiency for individuals who are blind and visually impaired. • The Contractor will provide Vision Rehabilitation Teaching and training in activities of daily living in the following areas: personal care and management; budgeting and banking techniques; social and recreational activities; the distribution of adaptive aids and appliances; participation in peer support groups; and other techniques which will further independence and self-sufficiency. • The Contractor will provide Vision Rehabilitation Teaching in communication skills in: Braille skills; typing; handwriting; short-term language remediation; use of large-print materials, the distribution of adaptive aids and appliances, with prior approval by the State, and training in the use of those adaptive aids and appliances...
