The responsibilities of the food service include the following: Preparing and serving meals and meal supplements (snacks) to students, and participants in NSLP, SBP, SFSP, FFVP, CACFP, and SMP. Preparing and serving meals to staff, parent organizations, and for some scheduled events (conferences, business partnerships, etc.), whether in or out of the SPONSOR. If the selected FSMC is procuring goods or services which are being charged to the SPONSOR under the awarded contract outside of the fixed price per meal (e.g. equipment), the selected FSMC is acting as an agent for the SPONSOR and must follow the same procurement rules under which the SPONSOR must operate and that the selected FSMC may not serve as a vendor. Any rebates, discounts, or commissions associated in any manner with purchases must be returned to the nonprofit school food service account. Only net costs may be charged to the SPONSOR.
