The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority is seeking qualified vendors to perform towing services to and from locations at its various facilities throughout the State of Rhode Island. Towing services may, upon special occasion, be requested to tow vehicles from other locations as directed in Massachusetts and Connecticut. The Authority uses approximately 250 tow services per year. F. Technical Specifications Vendors must meet the following requirements to provide service to RIPTA: 1. Vendor must be available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year to perform service (inclusive of weekends and holidays as directed by RIPTA). 2. Vendor must be available to provide service to RIPTA within one (1) hour of the request to perform the service. 3. Vendor must be available to perform emergency service within thirty minutes of the request from RIPTA Maintenance. Vendor must have service personnel at the designated location within one hour for emergency service. 4. Have enough tow vehicles and staff available to service RIPTA's needs in a timely manner. 5. RIPTA reserves the right to utilize the services of any qualified vendor in the event the vendor with the lowest cost is not available in the timeframe deemed appropriate by the Authority at the time the tow services are needed. 6. 5 years of heavy equipment towing experience is required. 7. Vendor must have proper licensed personnel available to perform work. 8. Vendor must have all necessary State, and Federal licenses and permits. 9. All work performed must be done in accordance with the above regulations. 10. Vendor must maintain insurance coverages as specified in this document. 11. Contract term is for one year with up to four annual renewal options shall be exercised at the sole discretion of the Authority. Following is the schedule for this contract: a. Year One: April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2025 b. Year Two: April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2026 c. Year Three: April 1, 2027, to March 31, 2027 d. Year Four: April 1, 2028, to March 31, 2028 e. Year Five: April 1, 2029, to March 31, 2029 12. Successful bidder must provide a list of telephone numbers that are staffed on a 24-hour basis to RIPTA upon award of contract.
