The State is seeking information to develop an understanding of financial education resources and financial services available to Vermonters. Financial services may include educational resources and banking solutions, targeting Vermont populations that have historically not been served by Vermont financial institutions. Additionally, the State is seeking to identify partnership opportunities with Vermont banks, credit unions, non-profits, service providers, or public entities to address financial education disparities in the State of Vermont. Partnerships will ideally include a monetary capital component to complement education resources, recognizing that financial coaching is most effective when individuals have resources to implement the information they’ve learned into their daily lives. The RFI has two key objectives: • Develop an understanding of statewide financial education resources and financial services available to support Vermont populations that have historically not been served by Vermont’s financial institutions. • Identify partnership opportunities for the Office of the State Treasurer to collaborate with Vermont banks, credit unions, non-profits, service providers, or public entities to address financial education disparities in the State of Vermont.
