The intended use of Crushed Concrete material furnished during this project is to add additional height to existing paved and gravel surfaced roadways acting as the City’s flood protection levees. If material is placed during this project, it will be carefully removed to minimize any contamination from other materials on the roadbed or on the roadway shoulders or side slopes. It is intended that material which can be removed without contamination will be returned to the Contractor and that contaminated material will be retained by the City. 8. This contract shall remain open until the likelihood of a threatening flood no longer exists. If no materials are furnished as part of this project, it is anticipated that the contract will be terminated no later than June 6, 2025. If materials are to be furnished and some portion of those materials are to be returned to Contractor, it is anticipated that the material will be returned no later than June 20, 2025 and the contract will be terminated no later than June 27, 2025. 9. Crushed Concrete bid items shall be payment for furnishing crushed concrete material as measured by the Ton of material removed from Contractor’s stockpile. Contractor shall provide a scale to weigh material removed and the material returned to the site. A loader scale may be utilized if agreed upon by the Engineer and the Contractor. All loading, hauling, and other miscellaneous work required to transport and place the material shall be provided by the City or a separate City contractor. 10. Crushed Concrete material shall consist of crushed recycled concrete material with maximum size of 1 ½” and fines passing the #200 sieve not exceeding 12%.
