Medical interpreting must be provided for common languages for non-English speaking clients in person. Examples of languages commonly needed in the North Dakota region as are as follows: Krahn, Arabic, Bosnian, Dari, Farsi, Kinyawaranda, Kirundi, Kurdish, Oromo, Pashto, Persian, Somali, Swahili, Spanish, Kirundi, Nepales, and Vietnamese. As other New Americans resettle in State’s area with different languages, successful bidder will work to find individuals to provide language interpretation for non-English speaking individuals as they are identified. Each individual interpreter must receive annual training on medical interpreting. State will pay a 60-minute minimum fee and will make payments to the nearest 15-minute unit. State will pay for services cancelled within 24 hours of scheduled appointment time.
