The City of Laredo is seeking proposals to design and construct a lean-to-veranda approx. 13w x 22L x 11H. 1. Design: The contractor shall design and construct a lean-to-veranda (metal roof structure) based on standard design practices. Dimensions: The structure will measure an approximate width of 13 feet by a length of 22 feet by 11 feet high to align with the existing lean-to roof. Material: Consists of sheet metal tin roof and metal beam structure with an appropriate frame that complements the overall existing structure depending on the design specifications using the already acquired materials available. The contractor is responsible for providing any additional materials needed to complete the project. Design: The structure should be rectangular, free-standing, and of limited ground support. It should be preferably designed with a two-post system, with clean, straight edges, and free of any decorative embellishments, the rerouting of the rain gutter may be needed. Finish: The constructed structure should match or complement the finish of the building and structure surrounding such structure, ensuring a cohesive color scheme frame finish should match the existing facade, and the paint should match the overall aesthetic of the surrounding building. Ensure no damage is done to the surrounding walls or structural components during the construction 2. Construction Timeline: ꞏ All construction work should not exceed 5 working days, with consideration of court security. Construction shall be during business hours Monday through Friday, 8-5 pm, except on holidays. 3. Frame and Structural Modifications: It is recommended that the contractor visit the project site for integrity and consider any necessary modifications to accommodate the lean-to-veranda approx. 13w x 22L x 11H. Reinforcement: If necessary, reinforce the surrounding structure to ensure a secure construction design. Structural Integrity: Any structural modifications to the existing wall or frame must meet all local building codes. Weatherproofing: Ensure proper sealing and weatherproofing of all new installations to prevent leaks between the existing building wall and the new structure. 4. Safety and Compliance: Building Codes: All work shall comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards, including but not limited to fire safety, accessibility, and structural requirements. Site Safety: The contractor is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, including the use of appropriate signage, barriers, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Permits and Inspections: The contractor shall obtain all necessary permits and coordinate inspections as required by the City of Laredo. 5. Completion and Cleanup: Post-Installation Cleanup: The contractor shall be responsible for cleaning the site after installation, ensuring all construction debris, materials, and equipment are properly disposed of.
