The Fort Morgan Water Treatment Plant currently has an Allen-Bradley SLC500 PLC based automation system with an Iconics HMI for control, interface, alarming and alarm notification. AllenBradley has announced the SLC500 platform reached its end of life as of March 2024, meaning modules and processors are officially discontinued or supported. The PLC platform needs to be updated to avoid future issues related to reliability and replacement module availability. The HMI interface (Iconics) and the corresponding IO servers (Software Toolbox) are currently running on three PC’s located in the plant. The Fort Morgan Water Treatment Plant is requesting proposals from qualified Contractors/Integrators to replace the current system with an Allen Bradly ControlLogix based system. The plan is to replace only the back panels of the current control panels to preserve all of the field devices, power and communication wiring. All processors and IO modules will be replaced. The work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, furnishing of labor and equipment for the installation of six control panels (PCM-1, PCM-2, PCM-3, Filter Console, Trac Vac Control Panel, Polymer Control Panel, Effluent RIO Control Panel, main ethernet switch, driver for SCADA software, control software license, and start-up and testing of the system) in the plant for upgrade.
