Contractor to provide all necessary design/engineering, permits, materials, and labor to perform the following scope of work: Demolition -Remove and dispose of four existing steel wall mounted roof ladders located on the South (Ladder #1), West Upper (Ladder #2), West (Ladder #3), and Northwest (Ladder #4) sections of the Justice Services Building penthouse HVAC and Elevator mechanical room. Installation and Patch Work - Patch and paint concrete/paneled walls to match surfaces at any existing and/or new ladder anchor and penetration points - Install one new aluminum ladder with cage (Ladder #1) on South wall at location east of the exhaust air louver if existing or additional structure and mounting locations can be provided. (This location is currently comprised of steel panels covering angle and tubular steel construction as part of an air handler fan compartment). - Install new aluminum ladder with cage (Ladder #2) at existing South side upper penthouse wall/roof location - Install new aluminum ladder with cage (Ladder #3) at existing West side penthouse wall/roof location - Install permanent safety barrier at variable elevation parapet wall located on the lower West side roof - Install new aluminum ladder with cage (Ladder #4) at existing Northwest side penthouse wall/roof location - Install permanent safety barrier and safety step/platform to facilitate safe access onto the Northside penthouse wall/roof ladder Ladders, fall barriers, and walking platforms to be constructed of weather and slip resistant materials. Contractor to determine safe materials handling of existing and new equipment to and from roof. A stairwell exists from an exterior ground level door to the penthouse/roof access. Roof access is accessible through close quarters requiring personnel to walk through a return air system. A crane mobilization point exists in a parking area at the Northeast corner of the building.
