1.0 GENERAL The Stillwater Wastewater Treatment Plant is in need of a new Washer Compactor to handle and dispose of headworks screenings. The current unit on-site is failing and parts are unavailable as the manufacturer is no longer in business. This unit is a crucial part of the wastewater treatment process and the plant cannot run without it. 2.0 OPERATING CONDITIONS This piece of equipment must be able to operate continuously without fail in an outside environment and be able to handle varying loading based on diurnal wastewater flows as well as storm events. 3.0 COMPACTOR DESIGN The unit must be sized according to the following treatment plant design parameters. • An average dry weather flow of 2.25MGD with peak wet weather flows nearing 30MGD. • Current loadings equate to roughly 1-2 cubic yards of material per week. • Screenings are transferred via a horizontal conveyer from two 22” fine screens that operate in parallel channels. • Utilize a 460/3/60 electrical supply. 4.0 INSTALLATION The unit is intended to be installed by on-site City mechanics and electricians. Vendor and/or vendor’s employees will not be permitted to perform any labor, installation, or repair work onsite. If vendor or vendor’s employees will be on-site, they will be restricted to inspection, oversight, and training only.
