1.4.1 Disposable meal packaging and eating utensils: 1.4.1.1 Shall not be made from extruded polystyrene foam or XPS (i.e. Styrofoam™) 1.4.1.2 Shall be GreenScreen™ certified 1.4.1.3 Shall contain recycled content materials and/or agricultural residues. (Agricultural residues do not include purpose crops grown for fiber.) 1.4.1.4 Shall clearly label all contents of meals and any potential allergens. 1.4.2 Meals shall contain the following: 1.4.2.1 Meals must comply with USDA interpretations for the Dietary Guidelines for American Adults, 2020 – 2025. https://www.dietaryguidelines.gov/sites/default/files/2021-03/Dietary_Guidelines_for_Americans-2020- 2025.pdf. Each meal shall provide a minimum of 1000 calories. 1.4.2.2 Meals shall consist of the following four (4) items: 1.4.2.2.a Sealed drink of 12 (twelve) fluid ounces or more (water or various drink options) 1.4.2.2.b Main entrée with no less than 33% daily protein needs of: 1.4.2.2.b.i Minimum Six (6) inch long sandwich OR 1.4.2.2.b.ii Salad 1.4.2.2.c A Pastry (such as a cookie, muffin, etc.) 1.4.2.2.e A personal serving size bag of chips 1.4.2.3 10% (twenty meals of each batch of 200) of the total quantities of meals shall be a vegan option, clearly labelled on packaging 1.4.2.4 50% or more (at least half) of meals shall be a non-pork option 1.4.2.5 Main entrée variations between morning and evening encouraged 1.4.2.6 Bidders are encouraged to provide pricing for catered meals that align with special dietary needs (Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, Halal or Kosher, etc.) at special additional alternative pricing. 1.4.2.7 Bidders shall include sample menu of catered meal options 1.2.2.8 The caterer shall ensure that all meals are prepared and packaged in accordance with food safety standards. 1.4.3 Meal delivery shall: 1.4.3.1 Be scheduled as-needed with 24 hours advance notice. 1.4.3.2 Be prepared, packed individually and ready for delivery twice daily, by 5am and 5pm 1.4.3.3 Be in quantities of 200 per delivery. 1.4.3.4 Be delivered to City of Portland location 2929 N. Kerby Ave, Portland, OR 97227 twice daily, by 6am and 6pm 1.4.3.5 If delivery cannot feasibly occur directly to City of Portland location, City of Portland will arrange to pick up meals from the contractor(s) using City staff and vehicles.
