During the most recent operation, JVWCD’s 1028 East College Street Well produced filter pack gravel in the water stream. The pump is a 5- stage, 1800 rpm, vertical turbine pump operating with a 300 hp motor producing approximately 1700 gpm of water. The pump was set at approximately 400 feet and the total depth of the well is 780 feet. Under a previous contract, the pump and motor were pulled and the well casing was inspected several times to diagnose the problem. The District desires to chemically treat the well, video the treated well, patch any openings in the casing, perform mechanical development, install new pump column and sounder tubes, install a cathodic protection system, and reinstall the pump and motor.
