1. General Requirements This specification outlines the requirements for Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) used in roadway construction and maintenance projects in compliance with: • AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) Standards The contractor shall supply materials that meets the quality and standards. 2. Material Composition & Quality RAP material shall consist of reclaimed asphalt pavement derived from existing roadways, free of contaminants such as: • Excessive dirt, clay, or debris • Vegetation, wood, or organic materials • Hazardous substances or petroleum-based contaminants • Non-bituminous construction debris (concrete, brick, etc.) The RAP material shall be processed to achieve uniform consistency, free of oversized particles. 3. Gradation Requirements 02.4.1. D.1 Crushed Aggregate Section 802 2 2 A 3, AASHTO T-27 Sieve analysis of fine and coarse aggregates.
