The City of St. Louis Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Office of Violence Prevention (OVP) are seeking proposals from qualified nonprofit organizations to develop and implement a Youth Violence Interruption Program. The goal of this initiative is to reduce youth-involved violence through community-based intervention strategies, conflict resolution, and mentorship programs. We invite proposals from nonprofit organizations, community groups, and service providers with experience in violence prevention, youth engagement and street outreach. Youth violence remains a critical issue in our community, affecting families, schools, and public safety. This program aims to implement evidence-based strategies to mediate conflicts before they escalate, provide youth with alternative pathways, and collaborate with stakeholders to create safer environments. The selected provider will be responsible for deploying violence interrupters, offering mediation services, and connecting at-risk youth to support resources.
