Conserve, restore, and repair one hundred twenty-five (125) headstones and three (3) monument stones in the North and South Cemeteries; and seventy-five (75) headstones in West Cemetery, returning them to sound functioning condition with the least alteration to their historic appearance. The scope of work includes: • Condition assessment • Documentation of current conditions • Conservation • Restoration • Recording of treatments undertaken on the headstones The conservation and restoration work must include the following methods: • Fragments of stone collected, recorded and properly stored • All gravestones to be conserved must be cleaned • Resetting of tipping, unstable, and fallen grave stones • Adhesive, filling, consolidation and pining repairs as needed or required All work must follow the Code of Ethics and Standards of the Practice of the American Institute for the Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works.
