Thatchbed is requesting bids from qualified companies who can carry out a complex scope of work involving dredging the river bottom around Essex Harbour and using the dredge spoils to fill large synthetic tubes (Envirotubes) to be placed adjacent to the Harbor around a tidal wetland (Thatchbed Island) to accomplish both the beneficial use of clean dredge spoils and the restoration of degraded wetland habitats. Purchasing the Envirotubes (20 - 200’ long, 30 ft circumference) which will be stored near Essex, the costs submitted by contractors should include the cost of loading rolled tubes to vessels for installation. The tubes will be stored near North Cove, north of the Town of Essex. • Providing materials for water exit weirs, including sediment screening, hay bales or other materials needed for installation. • Planning and implementing a seeding program for both the tubes and the back filled area along with follow up monitoring and possible reseeding. • Providing the Plan for Envirotube Placements and DEEP permits for tube installation
