Finish Mowing: Locations are required to be cut weekly or bi-weekly and are City properties or facilities where the highest quality of mowing is required. The primary piece of equipment shall be walk behind type mower. Trim work shall be done with gas-powered trimmers. Mowing: The mowing season shall generally be considered April 1 to October 31. All mowing equipment shall be equipped with sharp blades so as not to tear, but cleanly cut, the blades of grass. All grass shall be cut to a height of 2” to 3”. Care shall be taken to prevent the discharge of grass clippings onto any paved surface such as streets, parking lots, sidewalks or driveways, and onto adjacent properties. All trash and litter removed shall be disposed of by the contractor at an off-site location. General Trimming: All structures, trees, utility poles, fire hydrants, signs, fences, etc., shall be trimmed back to maintain an aesthetically pleasing appearance. Special care shall be taken when trimming around small trees or other desirable plantings to avoid inflicting damage. Fence Line Clearing: Special attention shall be given to the fence lines around the Police Department and Police Department Barn. Since the fence is located slightly inside the property line, trees, shrubs, and other vegetation growing near the fence must be trimmed back to the actual property line to ensure the fence is fully clear of any encroaching growth. This is to prevent obstruction and maintain accessibility for fence maintenance and security. Mowing Coordination: All trimming shall be performed concurrently with mowing. The area surrounding the fence lines, including any trees or plants, must be regularly cleared to ensure no overgrowth impacts the fence, which is located just inside the property boundary. Weed Control: In addition to regular trimming and mowing, weeds must be hand-pulled around the Fire Stations and Police Department properties. This includes any areas around structures, along the fence lines, and in landscaped beds where mechanical equipment may not be suitable. Hand-pulling should be done in a manner that prevents weed regrowth and minimizes disruption to surrounding plantings and the aesthetic quality of the property”.
