Tagging and Equipment Training: Introduction to JSATS technology, covering fundamentals of the technology and key elements of effective JSATS study. Up to 5 days of in-person tagging training, including a presentation on methods, hands-on tagging practice, and associated SOPs and supply lists. Initial 1-day hands-on training for acoustic equipment, including references to user manuals, SOPs for testing, and troubleshooting common issues and solutions (coinciding with tagging training). Remote support for miscellaneous questions throughout the study. Copies of both introductory presentations for JSATS and tagging will be provided to ADF&G. The JSATS introduction and tagging training to occur at the Anchorage, Alaska hatchery with ADF&G provided space and taggable fish. Equipment training will occur over a single 8-hour day, or within the tagging training period. Tagging and equipment training to occur in April, 2025 Deployment Support: Up to 5 days of on-site support for array development and range testing in Soldotna, AK. One expert staff member will provide guidance on deployment configurations and the materials needed before travel to the study site. ADF&G will provide all tools, equipment, and materials necessary for the correct deployment and testing of the receiver arrays. Deployment support to occur in May, 2025. Data Processing Support: Assist ADF&G in developing all necessary components of the data management, processing, and analysis “data pipeline for an acoustic telemetry project. Provide two 2-hour virtual meetings (or equivalent total time) to support the development of ADF&G’s acoustic telemetry data processing capabilities. Provide remote support for miscellaneous questions throughout the study. This task included access to presentation materials, templates, examples, and a compiled list of applicable peerreviewed papers. Provide additional support of up to 8 hours of on-call virtual assistance throughout the project. Data processing support to occur as needed. Study Plan Review: Provide review of ADF&G study plan to ensure it includes all critical components, such as clear objectives, and appropriate array design and data analysis techniques. Review of study plan and feedback provided not to exceed 4 hours of review time each. Study plan review to occur in April, 2025.
