This project requires the electrical disconnection and removal of each solar panel from the top of buildings 912-917. The removal of each panel will require repairs to any sustained damaged areas on the roof either to include the voids from brackets or damage caused by the panels themselves to prevent future leaks during a weather event. The contractor shall safely disconnect and remove electrical wires from the solar panels up to inside the junction box and using insulated lugs to cap off wires. The contractor will take on the responsibility to properly dispose of the solar panels to any off-site location of their choosing. To accomplish panel removal, the contractor will need to install 1 permanent safety tie-off per building to eliminate any potential fall hazard. Contractor will follow standard OSHA guidelines regarding fall protection safety. a. Visiting & Survey of Project Site – Contractor to survey project site area and parapet areas of proposed installation. Determine if any conflicts are present. Notify DMVA/COANG PM of any found inaccuracies & conflicts. b. Shop Drawings and/or Parts Submittal – Contractor will provide shop drawings and/or parts specification sheet for review & approval in advance of fabrication & installation. c. Site & Facility Coordination- Contractor will coordinate, plan site utilization, in advance of scheduled installation, e.g. storage of materials, dumpsters, porta-johns, with DMVA/COANG PM. d. Security & Badging – All contractor personnel & sub-contractors’ personnel are required to file and submit personal identification information for security background and clearance for facility access, minimally 7 working days in advance of scheduled installation and provide escorts.
