a. Furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary to provide vegetation control to the designated areas. Areas to be treated were determined from field measurements. The quantities shall be considered correct if re-measurement determines original quantity is plus or minus 5% of quantity. The following types of weeds and trees are to be treated and known to be in the area are Sunflowers, Ragweed, Curly Dock, Horse Weed, Lettuces, Pigweed, Smartweed, Thistle, Bromegrass, Elm Trees, Milk Weed, Cottonwood (small), Johnson Grass and other unknown species. b. Contractor shall identify weeds and grasses and shall choose the appropriate herbicides and application rates to achieve the quality standard. Areas receiving herbicide application shall be 95% weed free with no more than five(5) plants over 10" in height per 1000 sq. c. Gravel and bare surfaces require complete coverage with herbicides during initial application. d. Blue dye shall be incorporated in all tax mixes to provide a visual confirmation of coverage and at a strength to be visible for a 7-day period for inspection purposes. e. Unless specified elsewhere, fence lines treated shall have a swath width of at least 24" on each side or proportioned to existing limits of placed gravel. f. Extreme caution shall be used when applying herbicides in areas where existing tree, shrubs, or ground covers are located. Contractor shall be responsible for replacement if damaged. g. Contractor shall not apply herbicides when wind speed is over 12 mph or if inclement weather is imminent. h. The successful contractor must be given the "Notice to Proceed" by the Point of Contact (POC), Gary Palmer 785-375-6629 or their designees prior to spraying in each calendar year of the contract. i. The successful contractor must provide all MSDS and labels to the POC prior to usage of chemicals.
