1. Duration and Timing of the Display A. Fireworks Only Show: The Contractor shall provide a 30–40-minute display. Products used will be a mixture of cakes and mortars. Of course, the final call is on the license carrier, but it should be noted that distances to occupied structures and the public limit us to a maximum 3” mortar. The display shall include a distinct opening, mid-barrage, and grand finale. The Proposal shall include a description of shells and cakes for display, colors, and unusual features. Wherever possible, Fireworks shall be launched electronically. No subcontractors may be used to set up or fire the display. B. Fireworks with Optional Light/Drone Show: The Contractor shall provide a 15–20-minute, continuous display, to begin at dusk, of a mixture of graphics and messages directed towards the crowd at Granville Gude Park. The Contractor should be able to produce displays specific to our event including, but not limited to, “Welcome”, The American Flag, a display highlighting the Committee’s theme, and the Laurel 4 th of July Committee’s insignia. These displays and their individual length of time shall be agreed upon by all involved parties and ONLY agreed upon displays will be allowed. Any deviation will be considered a breach of contract. The Contractor shall provide a 15–20-minute display IMMEDIATELY following the Drone show, using specs within this RFP. The Fireworks Contractor needs to consider the following while preparing the proposal: The Fireworks Sub-committee will supply 4 floating barges. Each are 10’x12’, aluminum plated, and will be loaded with product, wired with e-match, and independently floated to the center of the Lake. Each barge has a 25 pair cable run back to shore and operated by a 100-switch control board, also property of the Committee. The Fireworks sub-committee is well experienced in this part of the show and looks forward to working with the Contractor. 1. Aerial Displays: Shooting locations are on both the sidewalk bordering the Lake and on the 4 barges discussed above. The Lake is mostly lined with low brush and some medium-sized trees. This creates a need to get the majority of our display in the air at least 75’-100’ to be viewed without obstruction. Ground and low-lying products should be kept out of the display. In prior years, some ground displays were used for messaging, but, hopefully with the addition of Drones, we can put those displays high enough for all to see. 2. Provision of Labor and Equipment by Contractor: A. As the Drone contractor has a very specific and technical product, it is assumed they will provide all labor and equipment necessary to provide their part of the show. The Committee will certainly have help available upon request to a reasonable extent. The Committee will also work with The Contractor to ensure a safe and secure set-up area. It is expected that the contractor cleanup behind themselves. B. The Fireworks Contractor shall furnish a Licensed Lead Shooter and as much experienced assistance as they may need to ensure a complete show. The Committee will provide 10-20 very capable, experienced volunteers. With 45 years under our belt, the Laurel 4th of July Fireworks Sub-committee is quite capable of picking up the slack and will operate in a safe manner and in coordination with the Contractor. As we have for many years, we are there for the entire process. From unloading and loading trucks to set-up and cleanup. Also, we will ensure the building, floating, loading, wiring and placement of the barges. The Contractor and Sub-Committee Chairman are expected to work together to ensure the safety of the entire crew, as well as verify that consumption of ANY kind of intoxicant is strictly prohibited and NO ONE will be allowed on site who is found to be under the influence.
