• Scope: Replacement of approximately 9,200 residential gas meters. • Materials Provided by the City: o Sensus R-275 Meter o Spud Swivel Set with Gaskets o Itron 100G ERT o Sensus 496 Regulator • Expected Timeline for the Project: 3 years • Specifications: o The mobile data collection system must generate Excel files to be imported into BS&A, facilitating mass meter change-out imports. o Import files must be available for daily transfer to the City of Covington’s system of record, BS&A. o Import files must include: the old meter number, final read from the old meter, new meter serial number, old ERT and new ERT information, initial read from the new meter, meter class, customer information, and address. o Installers must collect images of both new and old meters. These pictures must capture all meter details, including the meter serial number, final reads, and condition of the meter. o Installers must paint all components of the meter set with Battleship Gray meter paint. o Installers are to use black iron fittings on all re-builds. o The contractor must be able to complete 15-meter installations per day to achieve approximate completion within 3 years. o The contractor must follow the general schedule set forth by the City of Covington to align with the metering department's read schedule, avoiding specific blackout periods. o Installers must contact homeowners before installation, if possible. o Freezing temperatures are anticipated within 24 hr period, customers must be home before gas service can be interrupted. o A Project Manager must be assigned to coordinate between customers, contractors, vendors, and all other parties involved in project delivery and execution.
