DTA is the state agency responsible for administering the Commonwealth’s transitional assistance programs, including the USDA Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). SNAP provides nutrition benefits to supplement the food budget of needy families so they can buy healthy foods. In 2024, DTA began administering a related FNS benefit program, SUN Bucks; DTA serves as the Coordinating Agency and the Department of Elementary and Secondary (DESE) serves as the Partnering Agency. SUN Bucks is a federal food benefit that helps low-income families with school-aged children buy food when schools are closed for the summer. The Department is posting this Notice rather than conducting a full procurement because the Department believes this opportunity represents best value to the Commonwealth and is utilizing this Due Diligence Posting to ensure that the process is open, fair and competitive.
