The University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking one (1) vendor to provide a Fully Automated Instrumented Split Treadmill with Pitch and Sway Capabilities that meets the minimum requirements of this IFB. Bidders that do not meet these qualifications, in judgment of UMMC, will be disqualified. SPECIFICATIONS; 1. The instrumented treadmill must be a fully automated split belt with independent dual force plate embedded instrumented treadmill. 2. The treadmill must have independent control of the split belt that allows independent movement in forward and reverse, both together in the same direction and individually in opposite directions. 3. The treadmill must have the capability to not only move the split belt in different directions (opposite direction of each other), but also at different speeds independent of each other and independent of the direction. 4. The treadmill split belt along with the software must be able to abruptly change speeds, change directions, and start and stop suddenly that enables to provide sudden postural perturbations. These require high speed accelerations of the treadmill belts. 5. The treadmill must also have self-speed adjustments of the treadmill belt, based on the walking speed that is sensed by the instrumented force plates of the treadmill. 6. The treadmill must have the capability to move as a whole unit in multi-directional controlled movements that allow (i) pitch and (ii) sway capabilities of the entire treadmill and the platform together as one to induce postural perturbations. 7. The treadmill belt must be able to move in rapid accelerations in forward and backward directions, aiding in postural perturbations provided by the treadmill belts. 8. The treadmill must be able to move as a unit in side-to-side directions to have the ability to provide lateral postural perturbations. 9. The treadmill must also include incline and decline operation of the treadmill. 10. The treadmill must include hand rails, a safety fall harness, and accessible stairs to be used by participants.
