Iowa State University seeks to procure a comprehensive O-RAN testing solution to support research, validation, and testing of Open RAN equipment. The solution should enable testing of O-RAN components including O-RU, ODU/O-CU, RICs, SMO, core network elements and end-to-end systems in both standalone and integrated configurations. The selected solution will be used in the university's wireless communications lab for diverse purposes, with nearterm examples such as the following: 1. O-RAN WG4 conformance testing 2. Interoperability testing between different vendors' equipment 3. O-RAN TIFG End-to-end functional, performance & service testing 4. O-RAN WG11 Security testing 5. Comprehensive test automation, management and orchestration with fully automated test reporting and log collection capabilities 6. Advanced wireless research and development The solution should include all necessary hardware (servers, RF cards, NICs etc), software (emulators, licences, extensions etc) and accessories (cables, SFPs etc) required to perform all the above-mentioned testing and reporting. The solution must include necessary training, documentation, and ongoing technical support to ensure successful deployment and operation within the university environment.
