Salt Lake Community College is soliciting proposals for a contractor/consultant to sign a design + build contract for a new baseball backstop and netting system at our baseball field. Cate Field is the Salt Lake Community College baseball field, it is located at our Jordan Campus located at 9000 S 3500 W, West Jordan, Utah. This project has been initiated by a Risk concern created by foul balls reaching traffic on 9000 South. This is a design + building project that will replace the existing back stop and netting with a new backstop and netting system that will extend down both baselines. The goal of this project is to protect 9000 south traffic and pedestrians, spectators, and Cate Field buildings and infrastructure. Structural review and engineering for support poles required. Nets will also be added to the front of the dugouts in accordance with new NJCAA requirements. SLCC is interested in exploring a new tie back system option. Project will require demolition of the existing backstop and netting system. SLCC has a field trajectory study completed by Tanner Consulting, which has recommendations on effective netting heights. SLCC would like design + build pricing on the following three options, which will be reviewed and approved based off cost/benefit to the College.
