A. The following equipment is required for ground herbicide application: • Skidder or similar prime mover (100 HP and minimum nine-foot wheelbase) equipped with GPS, holding tanks, and low-drift nozzle sprayer. • Nurse truck to haul and mix herbicide. • All herbicides and adjuvants as indicated on the site data tables. • All fuel and other support supplies as needed. 1. Sprayer equipment requirements: • Sprayer must be capable of distributing a uniform, unbroken band of evenly mixed herbicide up to 50 feet wide. • Sprayer must be capable of treating vegetation up to eight feet tall. • The broadcast spray equipment must be designed to uniformly apply herbicides as prescribed at a total minimum mixture of water and herbicides plus surfactants of no less than 15 and no more than 60 gallons per acre. • All controls and shutoff valves must be located within easy reach of the operator. • Spray equipment must have a circulating pump to continually mix the chemical when necessary. • Spray equipment must have a metering device to accurately formulate spray solutions. 2. GPS & digital map equipment requirements: • The spray operator must have in their position a device that is able to accurately show the boundaries of site and the position of the spray equipment using georeferenced PDF maps. The State’s Area staff will develop and the State will provide georeferenced maps for all sites to the operator. • Upon request, the operator will demonstrate efficacy in operating the aforementioned equipment and software.
