The City of Bismarck Public Works Department (City) is seeking bids to lease hayland at the Landfill and Wastewater Treatment Plant Locations and cropland/pasture at a Landfill Location for the 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029 seasons as follows: • Hayland: Cut, bale, and remove all hay at least once during each calendar year during the term of this lease. The property is to be mowed clean with no patch work being permitted, except in the case of noxious weeds. The last cutting permitted will be on September 15th of each year. Hay in bales or stacks may be stored onsite until October 15th each year. Hay that is not removed by October 15th each year will become property of the City. Equipment must also be removed by October 15th each year. • Cropland/Pasture: The Lessee will have the ability to utilize the land for whatever agricultural purpose they choose. The property is to be kept clean and free of weeds including along fences and in ditches. The Lessee will have the ability to break up pastureland, at their own expense, to utilize as cropland at no additional cost for lease. If the Lessee exercises the option to break up the pastureland, they must get written permission from the local ASCS office and furnish a copy of the written permission to Public Works Service Operations. All rocks must be placed on one large pile located outside any identified wetland area. The Lessee may repair or replace the fence(s), at their own expense, however, any improvements made to the fence must remain in place at the end of the lease and will remain the property of the City. Access to the property shall be permitted January 1 through December 31. The fence along the interstate R/W is in relatively good condition, however, the remaining fences is in poor condition. Also, there is a water well located on the property, however, it is unknow at this time if it is operable. Any repairs needed to the fences or well are the Lessee’s responsibility.
