The City of Greenville and Duke Energy are partnering in an overhead utility clean-up project to underground and remove overhead utility crossings and service lines along Augusta Street from E. Augusta Place to Douglas Street. The project’s scope will include but is not limited to, all materials, labor, equipment, permits, traffic controls, utility locates and investigations; all necessary for the successful completion of the works in 180 days starting with day one of construction; weather permitted. The works can be performed by either directional bores or open trench depending on the contractor’s preferred method of construction. The project can also be done in combination of open trench and direct bores as best practice to be achieved. The Duke handholds and communication handholds will be provided to the contractor for installation. The contractor isresponsible for the submittal of encroachment permit to the SCDOT for the works, call in locates and verify all existing utilities prior to construction
