The work shall consist of the provision of all labor, materials, equipment, and transportation required for the trunk injections of publicly-owned ash trees in the City to limit the effects of Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), in strict accordance with the conditions and specifications of these Contract Documents. The work shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: • Initial site visit and assessment with City representatives • Securing necessary permits and approvals before commencement of work • Posting work areas for parking restrictions, if necessary • Marking work zones for traffic and pedestrian control • Providing a schedule of work for City review and approval • Meeting with City staff on a periodic basis • Visual assessment of each tree to be trunk injected and determination of treatment viability o If 30% of crown is in decline and treating is NOT advised, do not treat the tree. Notify the City if the tree should be removed. It is the City’s responsibility to remove the tree. • Trunk injection treatments for all ash trees identified by the City and which are healthy enough to treat against Emerald Ash Borer (see above) • Maintenance of forestry work records in Somerville’s tree inventory platform (TreeKeeper)
