The Town of Blackstone, Massachusetts, requests bids from qualified and experienced firms to provide curbside collection, transport and disposal of non-recyclable waste and curbside collection, transport, and marketing of recyclable materials. The users are residential dwellings, municipal buildings, duplexes, condominium complexes and 3-unit multi-family dwellings. As of January 1, 2024, the Town provided trash service to 3,835 households (approximate annual tonnage of municipal solid waste is 2,264.74 and recycling is 971). The scope of services for this IFB eliminates curbside trash and recycling recovery services to residential properties of four or more units, therefore, reducing the total households eligible to participate in the curbside trash and recycling recovery program to 3,520 households. No commercial properties are eligible to participate in the curbside trash and recycling recovery program. Bids shall address curbside waste control in the Town. Areas to be documented are waste preparation for pickup, frequency of pickup, recyclables pickup and cost of service.
