The Town of Chelmsford Department of Public Works is seeking proposals from qualified professional engineering consulting firms to develop a design for Main Street Improvements. The goal and objective of this project is to enhance pedestrian safety, improve traffic flow, and create a more functional street environment within the Main Street corridor. By recognizing the existing challenges of limited sidewalks, lack of safe pedestrian crossings, extensive paved area and site lines. This project will develop a comprehensive design of Main Street from Groton Road to School Street. This initiative will implement a combination of street improvements, intersection improvements, sidewalk installation and targeted traffic calming measures, in a meaningful and impactful way.
