1.1.1 The Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) is soliciting bids from bidders to perform the following work at thirty-six (36) sites in Maryland: The sample analysis of specified unknown but suspected pesticides; overpacking and removal of pesticides from each site through a “milkrun” collection approach; transportation and final disposal of unusable pesticides that have been preregistered with the Department. These individuals are participating in the Maryland Department of Agriculture's Unusable Pesticide Disposal Program. MDA estimates that there is twenty four thousand six hundred seventy (24,670) pounds of pesticide material at these sites, which sum is comprised of: (1) three thousand one hundred thirty six (3,136) pounds of dry material, and (2) two thousand three hundred ninety two (2,392) gallons of liquid material with an estimated average weight of nine (9) pounds per gallon or twenty one thousand five hundred twenty eight (21,528) pounds.
