4.3.1 General Overview for all Components • Inspect components to determine their satisfactory conditions and compliance with NFPA Standards. • Note any site conditions that may compromise the proper operation of any system component. 4.3.2 Sprinkler and Automatic Pump Systems • Inspect and perform water-flow tests from main drain and inspector's test valve. • Inspect fire department couplings, caps etc. • Inspect fire pump control valves for proper position, condition and signage. • Inspect fire pump test header and alarm components. • Inspect fire sprinkler system alarm components. • Test low pressure alarms, supervisory circuits, and auxiliary functions. 4.3.3 Fire Detection and Alarm Systems • Check condition of fire alarm panel and related equipment. • Test all smoke and heat detectors per their manufacturer's specifications. • Inspect fire alarm control panels and remote alarm panels. • Inspect and test annunciators and zones visually and by tripping a detector. Inspect and meter batteries. • Inspect, exercise flow and tamper switches and low pressure alarms. • Inspect, output relays and test activation. • Inspect smoke detectors for cleanliness and clean as needed. • Inspect and exercise all control values and switches. • During testing of detection components, activate outputs for equipment shutdown, start up and HVAC/smoke control
