Therapeutic Behavioral ServicesThe County of Fresno on behalf of the Department of Behavioral Health is requesting proposals from qualified vendors to provide Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS). As the result of the federal class action lawsuit Emily Q v. Bonta, California is required to provide TBS services to children and youth under age 21. TBS is an intensive, individualized, one-to-one behavioral coaching program available to children/youth up to age 21 that are experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges in their current living environment or experiencing a stressful life transition. TBS can help children/youth and their parents/caregivers learn strategies and skills to increase the kinds of behavior that will allow them to be successful in their current environment and learn new ways of reducing and managing challenging behaviors. TBS is not a stand-alone service. It is used to support an ongoing primary mental health service such as mental health therapy or case management.
