a. The Board of Trustees of the Barrington Public Library is requesting bids for a solar energy system capable of producing approximately 70,000k kWh per year. The system would be comprised of both roof-mount and ground-mount panels. A suggested roof and site diagram is provided but installers should feel free to submit designs as they see fit. The Library wishes to preserve the majority of the grounds north of the building for program space, so the ground-mount installation should take that goal into consideration. b. The Library does not have historical energy use data for this building which is being renovated to house the town library. An entirely new all-electric HVAC system with air-source heat pumps has been installed during renovation. c. The roof-mount system shall be grid-tied, and should include online monitoring, revenue grade metering and automatic REC reporting. d. The structural engineer has noted that the roof can support a solar panel load of 3 psf. e. Conduits for a solar array have been installed by the project’s electrician. (See Exhibit C attached.)
