The City of Worcester Department of Public Works & Parks seeks qualified bidders for hauling of material. The private haulers shall pickup and haul catch basin cleanings and street sweepings as specified herein under the direction of the Department of Public Works and Parks. The City maintains separate stockpiles of street sweepings and catch basin cleanings at the Upper Blackstone Water Pollution Abatement District. It is estimated that the annual average totals of material generated are 4,000 tons from street sweeping and 8,000 tons from catch basin cleaning. The City shall provide sufficient equipment and manpower to load material into trailers. The collection of any required pre-characterization samples and analysis shall be performed by the city. The work to be done under this contract shall consist of the pickup and transportation of catch basin cleanings and street sweepings to a designated facility. The contract shall be paid by the ton as determined by scales at the receiving facility and recorded on official weight slips. The rates include all direct costs, indirect costs, general and administrative expenses, fees, and profit. There shall be no fuel surcharge or administrative fees allowed under this contract.
