A. The Work included in this project shall consist of the resurfacing of the blacktop play area located at the northwest corner of Johnsburg Elementary School. The court area and entrance path to be resurfaced is approx. 12,506 square feet. II. Project Scope of Work A. Pulverize existing court area (approx. 120’ x 102’) and entrance path (approx. 38’ x 7). Mill in place, existing pavement approx. 3.5” - 3.75” depth. After pavement has been milled, mix the millings and top layer of base aggregate with the machine, grade, and then compact. 1. Grade southern 10’ of path to ensure smooth butt joint with existing asphalt basketball area. 2. Remove corners and areas outside of the fence area 3. Fence fabric and up to (2) posts to be removed by others. B. Hot-Mix Asphalt Pavement - Pave and Compact 1. HMA Binder Course - 2” (N70-IDOT Approved) 2. HMA Surface Course - 2” (N70-IDOT Approved) 3. New asphalt surface court edges to align with the inside of existing fence posts. C. Exclusions 1. Fence Work 2. Turf Restoration 3. Striping or Color Coating
