In general, the work consists of: replacing all chemical storage cabinets, exhaust ductwork and fans for the 3 ventilated cabinets, fume hoods and utility fixtures, work counters, base cabinets, and sinks. Replacement 4 storage cabinets, base cabinets, fume hoods, exhaust ductwork, and exhaust fans should be constructed of 5 materials with maximum practical chemical resistance. All electrical and plumbing connections will be 6 modified and reworked as necessary to connect the new laboratory fixtures. The chemical resistant epoxy 7 flooring will be recoated. New deionized water service will be installed for the center island sinks and fume 8 hoods. All light fixtures will be replaced. All supply, return, and exhaust grilles will be repainted or 9 replaced if damaged or rusted. The design solution and room configuration will provide a 2-station 10 computer work area appropriately separated from the chemical area to allow completion of required 11 documentation and record keeping.
